«La metropolitana è una geografia laterale, un universo che letteralmente soggiace al mondo reale e sembra muoversi secondo regole proprie. In particolare, quella milanese è utilizzata ogni giorno da oltre un milione e trecento mila passeggeri, una tribù di nomadi che transita in spazi ibridi che si codificano quotidianamente secondo regole sempre nuove, in continua evoluzione.
La routine del viaggio, scontato e passivo, diventa in Under Milano un’immagine che trasla l’attenzione dal luogo oggettivo alla sua percezione, dalla struttura fisica al modo in cui viene vissuta e dunque trasformata. Seppur sostenuto da un forte impianto estetico, il progetto supera il puro godimento visivo per spingersi verso un'indagine antropologica attiva, cercando di svelare un paesaggio nascosto, intimo, sotterraneo e pulsante. Under Milano, complice l'alchimia tra le differenti personalità dei due fondatori, mette insieme un caleidoscopio di ambienti e situazioni del sottosuolo milanese, focalizzando l’attenzione su attimi, dettagli e atmosfere che, insieme, tessono un vissuto quotidiano precario e prezioso.»

In particular, the Milanese one is used every day by over one million and three hundred thousand passengers, a tribe of nomads that passes through hybrid spaces that are codified daily according to ever new rules, in continuous evolution.
The travel routine, taken for granted and passive, becomes an image in UNDERMILANO that translates attention from the objective place to its perception, from the physical structure to the way it is lived and therefore transformed.
Although supported by a strong aesthetic system, the project goes beyond pure visual enjoyment to move towards an active anthropological investigation, trying to reveal a hidden, intimate, underground and pulsating landscape.
UnderMilano, thanks to the alchemy between the different personalities of the two founders, puts together a kaleidoscope of environments and situations in the Milanese subsoil, focusing attention on moments, details and atmospheres that, together, weave a precarious and precious daily experience.
